WASHINGTON - Today, Partnership for a Secure America congratulates Mark Brzezinski as he officially begins his new assignment as U.S. Ambassador to Sweden.  In taking on this role, Brzezinski will step down from the PSA Board of Directors.

"I am profoundly grateful for this important opportunity to further the relationship between the U.S. and Sweden," he said.

President Obama nominated Brzezinski to the post in early September.  On October 18th, the Senate successfully confirmed the appointment.

Brzezinski brings a deep understanding of foreign affairs and national security to the position. Among other things, he has served in multiple roles on the National Security Council, as an adjunct professor at Columbia University's School for International Affairs, and as an active member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
