On September 24th and 25th, 2009, in Grand Forks and Fargo, North Dakota, Partnership for a Secure America, the Reserve Officers Association, and CNA sponsored a series of panel discussions on the national security risks posed by global climate change, America's energy use, and nuclear proliferation. PSA Executive Director Matthew Rojansky and Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn of the CNA Military Advisory Board held morning and afternoon sessions on the 24th at the University of North Dakota, the second of which included a panel of four responders featuring UND professors Albert Berger, Bret Weber, Dave Whalen, and Andrei Kirilenko. They also held a dinner with elected leaders and local businessmen in Grand Forks.
On September 25th in Fargo, Admiral McGinn and Matthew Rojansky held morning and afternoon panel discussions at the North Dakota State University Alumni Center, as well as a luncheon with veterans and university faculty and a dinner with community leaders.
Admiral McGinn and Matthew Rojansky also attended Editorial Board meetings with both the Grand Forks Herald and the Fargo Forum, and each of them published op-eds in the Herald. Admiral McGinn was also interviewed on KQHT 96.1 FM and KNOX 1310 AM of Grand Forks, and appeared on the evening news of the local NBC and ABC affiliates.
